Call for Abstracts CLOSED

From consideration of familiar tropes such as the ‘gay icon’ and the ‘gay anthem’ and explorations of various aspects of queer fandom, this seminar aims to discuss the continued contribution of artists and audiences alike, in affirming pop’s place as a soundtrack to our lives, and as an enduringly potent queer cultural force.

This event is organised by David Carroll and Jean-Philippe Imbert (SALIS, DCU). We are both members of EROSS@DCU, a research  group at Dublin City University which  recognises the intersectional  nature of gender and sex matters, and their intrinsic relationship to our experiences in the world as intimate, social and political beings.
